Is there a cross between Access Point Mode & Wifi Router Mode?

I have just purchased a ASUS RT-AC68U to replace my old Energy Imports Triple Play 150. The TP150 has a FXS port which we use for our phone on our Fibre connection. It seems that the AC68U is not a good replacement because it doesn't have the FXS port.

I think this I could work around this problem by using both routers, the Fibre connection going into the TP150's WAN port, and the AC68U acting in Access Point Mode. That would work, but it would use the TP150's terrible features as opposed to the AC68U's advanced features (reserving IP addresses to MAC addresses doesn't work on the TP150).

I would like to have our home network based off the AC68U, but have the Fibre connection go by the TP150 first (so the FXS port works), then to the AC68U. Is this possible?

Alternatively, I could purchase another router, which has both the AC68U's advanced features and the TP150's FXS port. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Yet another option would be to buy a new home phone or adapter, but I would rather not go there yet.

Thanks,
DarkMatterMatt
p.s. it's my first post, so if I have made any mistakes, or posted in the wrong place, etc, please correct me :)

Solution
Although it can cause issues with some game consoles you can run router behind router and only use the router with the FXS port for the phone. If possible map the second router as DMZ in the main router. You also want to turn off the wireless in the main router This will move any end user connectivity to the second router.

You could also look into using cell phone as your primary or go to a completely separate VoIP solution. Magic jack is the commonly known one but google and a couple others have free services. Although the phone over cable/fiber tends to work well it ties you to the vendor equipment.

This is what I am trying to achieve (just made a picture as a visual aid).
The TP150's IP address is 192.168.1.1
The AC68U's IP address is 192.168.1.2

I set the IP 192.168.1.2 as the 'host computer' in the TP150's DMZ settings
I plugged an Ethernet cable in between both of the routers' LAN1 ports (is this correct?)

The AC68U says that it isn't connected to the internet. Have I missed something obvious please?

I DID IT! :)

So here's what I did:
1) factory reset both routers
2a) plugged an Ethernet cable into the TP150
2b) went to 192.168.1.1 and edited the DMZ settings to 192.168.2.2
2c) changed the DCHP leases to 192.168.2.3 - 192.168.2.254
2d) disabled the wireless functionality
2e) changed the TP150's internal LAN address to 192.168.2.1
3a) plugged an Ethernet cable into the AC68U
3b) went to 192.168.1.1 and changed it's WAN address to a static 192.168.2.2
4) rebooted both routers

Thanks to @bill001g for the help with the DMZ :)
