So, I bought an off the shelf HP Envy 750-114 PC to turn into a small gaming computer for my little brother who's getting into PC gaming. I had an older GTX650 card from a previous build it's all he really needed so I put it in and to be sure I installed all the drivers and updates for the video card as I've done hundreds of times before. So I plug my monitor cable into the video card and try to boot the computer again almost as a formality as I was sure it would fire right up and it would be all good. I was wrong, I got three long beeps followed by three short beeps. So, I turned it off and removed power totally from the system and re-seated the RAM and the GPU. Done, I thought. I tried to boot it up again and nope. still the same error beep code. So, for giggles I tried just booting it up with the on-board video. and what do you know? It came right up and everything was awesome. I can even switch the cable to the video card and it will pick back up as a work around... Kinda. So I just was wondering if there was anything I could do to make it so I don't have to boot the computer then fumble around with the monitor cable every time I boot up this PC?
