hi, which one of the following mouse do you think is the better? they're at about the same price and both feature rgb leds which is important for me.
keep in mind that i play mostly fps games, and also that macros and remapping keys is very important part of my decision.
thanks in advanced.

i havent heard of that, but as for the core i have no issues having it set to steady. you can turn breathing on and off, change the brightness, change if your dpi settings lights are always on or only light up when you change it, and even set up a sleep timer to turn out the lights after so much time of inactivity. i would assume the rgb spectrum would add in a setting for color cycling, and what color you want if you dont want it to change. if this isnt the way it works right now, im sure the software will be patched, as thats pretty basic functionality the userbase is going to want out of an rgb mouse.

i wont trash the roccat as i've never used it and hear good things about the brand, but personally i have a proteus core. same thing as the spectrum, just not rgb. lets see if i can boil this down and not write a novel...

this is definately one of my favorite purchases for my rig. i love being able to remap all the functions, i love the custom dpi levels, and my favorite by far is the scroll wheel lock. click the button and the scroll wheel freespins for much faster scrolling, click it again to reengage the stepping turn. also the first mouse i've had with side tilt clicks to the scroll wheel.

i think the proteus will be the longer of the two you're looking at. it fits my hybrid claw grip very well. the clicks feel very clean. the sniper button is great even if i usually use it more for holding alt or something to show loot.

i dont think you will be disappointed with a proteus. hopefully somebody here has some experience with the roccat will weigh in. do you have anywhere nearby that sells them and might have one out as a demo so you can try it out? if you have any questions about the proteus or its software i'd be glad to answer them.

hi, first of all thanks for your answer, as to your question, no, i dont have anywhere nearby to test any of them.
i have a question about the g502 led control in the software, i dont know if this applies in the case of the proteus core as in the proteus spectrum but i just wanted to know if in the software you can choose to leave the leds on without any effect going on, i've heard that an issue with the proteus spectrum software and you're only able to do strobe or fade, maybe you know if its true or not.
thanks.
