Sudden Significant Drop on R/W Speed of Hard Drive

Hey Everyone,

I've been experiencing this problems for a few days now. Every time I try to boot up a huge game such as GTA 5, or move files. The read/write speeds start out fine at around 60 mb/s or higher and drop to kilobytes after a few seconds, or stops completely.

My computer boots up in around a minute, a bit slow for an SSHD. Most tasks run fine, but running huge games such as Battlefield, or Grand theft auto takes a very long time to boot or won't boot at all.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Solution
A mechanical drive when it get`s short on free storage space will slow down.
Because the read and write heads on the drive will be on the outer edge of the disk platter.

The outer edge of the disk platter spins slower in rpm than the inner parts of the disk platter due to the distance the disk has to spin one revolution on the outer edge of the disk platter.

It has to travel a longer distance to read Data, at a slower Rpm range.

This is why you never fill a mechanical hard drive to it`s near maximum storage capacity.
As the speed it transfers data at gets lower.

The transfer speed will get worse if the same drive is also used with the working OS on the same drive that is almost full to capacity. if you go over the amount of virtual...

Free.

To resolve the problem if the system has 4Gb upping the system memory to 8Gb and clearing more free hard drive space should speed up the drive transfer speeds.

Funny thing is, I just bought this hybrid drive not so long ago and haven't filled it up half way.
