Ram stick stopped working after it got unplugged

I unplugged my ram stick to know what brand it was then I put it back to the motherboard then it stopped working. I have 3 x 2gb rams and I only got 4gb memory after I turned on my pc. Should I worry about my ram stick or my motherboard? I'm afraid of unplugging another ram stick.

Was the system ON when you did this? If not, then most likely you simply didn't reinstall it in the same slot it came out of or did not get it fully seated. Make sure the notch in the memory slot is lined up with the slot on the memory module, and make sure you fully seat the memory until the locks at each end, or in some cases at only one end, click into place in the notches at each end of the memory module.
