I just upgraded my Asus z97-a MB from an i5 to i7 4690k.

All I did was disconnect the PSU, removed the h100i GTX water cooler, cleaned the thermal paste correctly, installed new thermal paste on the CPU, installed the CPU securely, connected the PSU.

I hit the power button and the fans kick on.
The monitors aren't turning on and the mouse, keyboard, usb connectors aren't working.
I do have the monitors connected to the 960 GTX nvidia GPU.

Can I get any help? Thank you for your time and response.

i would start with checking everything is connected properly and securely. hey, you never know. second, do you mean a 4790k? a 4690 is an i5. lastly, did you check the bios version before changing the cpu? from what i've read, it needs to be version 1008(just update it to the most recent) to run devils canyon i7 cpus.

if thats the problem, you can put the old cpu back in to get it working while you update the bios, then switch back to the new one.
