Hi I have "ECS A75F2-M2" motherboard and it supports DDR3 RAM up to 1866mhz.
It says it supports AMD® AMD Memory Profile (AMP) Memory Modules tho and I dont know much about that.

Will memory that says XMP work on it ?

I was looking at ram like:
- KINGSTON HyperX Fury Blue HX316C10FK2/8 DDR3 1600MHz, kit 2x4GB
- G.SKILL Ares series, F3-1866C9D-8GAB, DDR3 1866MHz, kit 2x4GB
- G.SKILL RipjawsX series, F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL, DDR3 1866MHZ, kit 2x4GB

Not sure how that AMP , XMP stuff works and do they all work on my motherboard?

Help appreciated.

Solution
Yes, those will all work, AMP is not much more than AMDs variant on XMP, and you can always set the DRAM up manually, many of us do it that way anyway ;) XMP, AMP, DOCP, EOCP are just easy ways to set DRAM up - and while I would go in 1866, your one set you are looking at, the Fury are the easiest of all, they set themselves up for you by using PnP

Thx for the reply, you said you would go for 1866 but Kingston 1600 would be the best for me.
Well I can buy KINGSTON HyperX Fury Blue HX318C10FK/8 DDR3 1866MHz, kit 2x4GB aswell , thats pretty much same memory but this one is 1866, so you think that one is better than those 2 G.SKILL I mentioned?

The motherboard does not have XMP setting. You don't have AMD Memory Profile Technology (AMP). Setting the memory manually goes as follows.

When you first install memory it will run at SPD settings. (Serial Presence Detect)

F3-1866C9D-8GAB
Tested Speed 1866MHz
Tested Latency 9-10-9-28-2N
Tested Voltage 1.50v
SPD Speed 1600MHz

Turn to page 43 of motherboard manual

Memory Clock (Auto)
This item is used to set the memory clock.

Here you change the option to run at 1866MHz. (Double Data Rate of 933MHz or x9.33 may be displayed there)

Next, Memory Timing Configuration (Auto)
You change this to [Manual].
CAS# Latency is the first number to set for DRAM Timings.
9-10-9-28-2N
Set CAS# Latency to 9, then set the next three numbers.

Command Rate (N/A/1 T)
This is usually set to 1 or 2. The G.Skill specs show it as 2N. Set to 2 or 2N
