Anyone know why this ram is so expensive?

They use plasma tubes for lighting effects, is part of it, they are aiming themselves at the gaming market. Also have a line coming out in conjuction with Asus that are strictly for Asus ROG mobos (initially only in 2666) called the Red Tesla, hoping to pick up a set or two prob next month to play with ;)

Cause it is made with better components, hand binned, better PCB, higher binned memory chips, they look cool, they are DDR4 which still cost a little more than DDR3 because it hasn't quite hit mass market share yet where there is lots being made causing the price to go down.
