Best motherboard and graphics card for AMD FX-6300

Hey people, pls help!! I am going to build a PC for editing videos. I selected AMD FX-6300 as it has 6 cores. Now I am searcing for a good graphics card and motherboard for $200. pls let me know if i chose the correct processor.

Hello,

What program are you going to be using? There are programs which do all rendering on the GPU, instead of software on the CPU. And there are programs which do all the rendering on the CPU rather than the GPU. And there are programs which can utilise both effectively, depending on what the project is made out of.

Also, what's your budget, and where are you buying from? List sites.

the 6300 cpu been dead for three years now. wait till zen if you need cheap amd power system or go with intel skylake locked i5 and h100 chipset mb. for gpu the newer pascal look to be dropping in may-june of this year. there going to be faster then the older 900 line of gpu.

^ the 6300 is a good chip for editing/rendering irregardless of its age .
As Suzuki asked , those are questions that need answering first.

For that price, I'm going to ballpark an i3 6100 + H110 motherboard + GTX950. I expect it'll be all-around better than the FX setup.

Or, you could potentially grab a Xeon 1231v3 (basically an i7) + H81 motherboard, and have vastly more CPU power, but will need to rely on the relatively weak Intel iGPU:

Absolutely 100% an amd card mate then.
Anything from the r7 265/ r7 360 is supported very well in Vegas pro..& adobe premier

What country are you in?? That'll have a big impact on what you can get in budget .

Thanks for your response. I have a question, i3 6100 is not unlocked does it mean we can't overclock it. If not, what does it mean?
Xeon is a really expensive choice.
H110 is a great choice. I have a problem with GTX 950, there are different products with the same name and slight variation in their specs. Can you pls help which one should I go with? (link below)

Matey if you're india then it's pointless looking on newegg.
Once tax , shipping & import duty is added the price will be nearly double!!

Prices from amazon.in, theitdepot.com,flipkart & snapdeal will be cheaper.

Unfortunately their hands are tied its the law :-/

Same here in the UK , newegg usa prices look insanely cheap compared to here , once the tax & duty is added they're at best the same price.

How much is your actual budget in inr for the parts ??

Is this a full tower you need ??

^ massively unlikely, you are also very likely going to need new ram , 8 years old would almost certainly mean its ddr2

You would have to post your old system specs to be sure.

You're below min req. on that PC. Go with the new build, no point upgrading. FX 6300 is a very good CPU for this task. I believe it should beat by the Intel i3 Skylake, but I'm not entirely sure. I do know that the i5 from Skylake can match the FX 8300 series in rendering tasks though.

I'm confused why you want to use Premiere and Sony Vegas, they are both NLE's.

I recommend HitFilm 3 Express if you want the most from your graphics card, as its not software rendering on the CPU, instead its done using OpenGL which is faster. The program is 100% free. It wont matter whether you choose NVIDIA or AMD here.

I do recommend going with Intel though. The FX stock coolers are so loud, that's nitpicking, but still worth mentioning.
