Hi All,

I have recently build my system.

Config
processor - i5 6500
Mobo - Asus z170k(I was going for h170 gaming pro but since it was not in stock and these both were same priced with same features...I bought this...hope I was correct on this. I know that z series are for overclocking and my processor does not support it but still I guess this is good?)
PSU - Corsiar VS 650(did not get the seasonic one :()
Case - Coler master force 500
Ram - g skill rip jaws (8 * 2)
HDD - Seagate 7200rpm(other spec not needed I suppose)
SSD - Samsung(forget about the rest spec)

I am using it for one week and it is working well and fine. Many games work on it but the main problem is the graphics rendering is not good and I need to play in low settings which is what is killing me and has made my decision of buying graphics card after 1-2 months completely change.
My choice of graphics card has changed a lot. Initially was opting for gtx 750ti(150$ here) then changed it to 950(around 160$ here)...then went all the way to gtx 960 2gb(200$ here) and then again changed to 960 4gb(230$ here). Then I searched a lot in forum about the best value for money graphics card and it seems maximum agree on gtx 970(so now have even opted to buy it though it is a lot costlier than my max budget of around 300$).

So basically I am now thinking of buying one of the three cards which is the most popular.

Asus Strix 970(bit under 400$)
Gigabyte 970 gaming g1(400$)
Asus 970 gaming 4g(400$)

Can someone please guide me as to what will be the best for my system. and also if 970 which is the best one. Just to add that I am bit more than casual gamer and want every good games to run on it. Love racing , simulation, city building and also the arcade games(so basically everything)?

Also wanted to mention that I am from India and the prices are much higher than the ones in US(bad tax rules and all..nothing that can be done mate :()

Thanks all for your help

Thanks,
Sagar

sager hold off on the gpu buy. nvidia new pascal card paper launch is in april and the cards are dropping in may-june time frame. when they do the older 900 line may be cheaper for you. the newer gpu will be faster then the older 900 line so for the money a 1060 gpu may be a good buy for you. or can wait for amd newer gpu that drop latter in 2016. .
most time there cheaper then nvidia cards.

Its not like that.....I have heard less people talking about amd graphics card..and also that it producess more sound and get hot bla bla..

Well thats the reason.

I even searched out for r9 380 and r9 380x(300$ and 320$ respectively here) which is bit cheaper than gtx 970 ...but people everywhere suggest to go for gtx 970 because of its superior performance over 380(x)..

Now r9 290(420$ here) is a bit higher than gtx 970 and I suppose those are better than gtx 970(perhaps)

All these just puzzles me out more...and that is also the reason I had fixed on geforce cards...

But please, if you have any better suggestion please do provide. I all all ears to any suggestion possible that can benifit me.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info smorizio...

Thats some good news.
I can wait for that long I suppose..

Just a small question in my mind.

The launch of 1000 series is in April and too perhaps in US and other countries first and may be some months later in India(not sure though).. or maybe in the same time frame...Also the same goes for Amd graphics card....

But Is there any graphics card at very low cost that I can buy for now and later upgrade to these. I see some gtx 610 at 40$ here. I mostly want something that will go like 3-4 months. and I can play some games. But also I see many saying that intel hd graphics(intel hd530 in my case) is almost at par to gtx 730 or 740. Is this the case. Can you clarify me bit on this

Thanks in advance..l

Admirable
the amd cards are not louder and do not get hotter, they do however produce more a bit more heat which gets dissipated into the room. (not really noticeable with the r9 380 line, that's an r9 290/390 thing)

The GPUs coming out this summer from amd/nvidia are going to be built on a smaller manufacturing process for the first time in several years which means large boosts to performance and reductions in heat generation. If you are willing to wait ~3 months that will be your best bet. If not, here is the list of cards mentioned at some point in this thread from best to worst:

gtx 970
r9 380x
r9 380
gtx 960
gtx 950
gtx 750 ti
Your integrated graphics
gt 610

Well ..then perhaps I will wait for 3 months then...

Actually I was planning to buy logitech g27 gaming wheel after 2-3 months..after buying graphics card now. Well I suppose I just need to reverse the plan ;)
