Is the AMD FX 8320E compatible with the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P

You can go on pcpartpicker.com and virtually create your own PC and it will tell you everything you need to know, including part compatibility. I checked and it says "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs". So it should work with a BIOS update. I believe you may be good, but I'm not 100% sure.
 


are you sure you arent misreading it? they may look similar, depending the writing type. i cant see any ''i'' version in gigabytes site!

download speccy and check your bios version there. if it is actually an i version you can always update to the latest one.!

Yeah, i have been doing research on it for about an hour and couldn't find anything about F2i, however i just used Speccy and it is F2i.

well you see at gigabyte on your board you posted there is no F2''I'' so ?

there 2 revisions 1.0 and 2.x none of them have a bios called F I
