I'm a college freshman looking for a budget laptop used for school and casual gaming. Which is a better choice for the long run considering that they have the same price. Long term purpose 5-6 years :)

P.S. - Which has faster compiling speed? My upper class men told me about superlong machine exercises/problems that take hours to compile.
MANY THANKS :)

Based on pure specification the Lenovo is the superior choice; no question.

Comparing cores and clock speeds is irrelevant as the architecture of AMD and Intel CPUs is completely different. What matters is performance, and when compared side-by-side, Intel almost always come out on top.

If you're compiling on the laptop then you'd probably benefit more from having an SSD.
