Partitioned primary default MBR on 500gb (now 465gb) HDD and X:drive is still there but won't boot up. I'm using a random disk with misc start files . anyway downloaded windows recovery media via my Android tablet copied raw "as is" compressed media to properly prepared 32gb flash drive, also recovery media of mfr with drivers and HDD says it's missing subsystem but these media are setup to run on systems without its system programs. Nothing is on C:\drive that I know of. Does anyone have any idea what subsystem it could be? Maybe Zip/unzip capabilities? Thank you lauraM. Oh sorry didn't mean to discuss my questions ..

Hey there, PNut__.

I'm honestly a bit lost about what you're trying to do here. You've formatted your drive and you want to create installation media in order to install Windows, but you're having trouble with that? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
If this is the case, you should try creating installation media again either by using the same flash drive or a DVD. Check out this tutorial: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2376-usb-flash-drive-create-install-windows-10-a.html. I'm sending you a Windows 10 one, since you didn't specify the version you're trying to install.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
