Optical Drive: Samsung SH-2240/BEBE DVD/CD
Operating System: Windows 10 Home
Case Fans: Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm Fan, Noctua R8-Redux 1800 80mm fan, Generic 80mm fan.
Monitor: ASUS VE228H 21.5
Keyboard: Logitech K120

Mouse (Came with Keyboard)

I would rate it okay... I would put a SSD like the Samsung SSD 850 EVO as the boot drive and use a Western Digital Black for storage. Other than that, looks alright.

I have never heard of that case - not sure I would buy the system based on that.

it's a very basic case, it's hard to fine anything on Viotek or the case itself, the only things i can find is a review from GadgetTechUSA and the Viotek store page.

I would maybe switch out the CPU, MOBO, and RAM. For the CPU I would go with the Intel Core i5-6500 Skylake. Then you will need a motherboard with a LGA1151 socket instead of an LGA1150. This will allow you to have DDR4 ram instead of DDR3. DDR4 ram is faster, and about the same price as DDR3 ram (I think). Also if you want 8gb of ram, make sure you get 2x4gb to take advantage of a MOBO with dual channel memory. If you have an extra $70 to spend, you could get a Samsung EVO 120/128/250gb SSD to put OS and main applications on. Also, maybe switch out to a more popular case with more reviews, unless you REALLY like that case. Everything else looks okay to me! Hope I helped!!

You got to think about the budget for a user's system. In some cases on really tight budgets an SSD that costs $80 can make or break what hardware a person is able to buy. Generalizing never really helps but it is always good to point people in the right direction when buying a system of any budget.

I agree, thats why I said "If you have an extra $70 to spend". That is what I would do next if he wanted to spend a bit more.

The case is up to you, on whichever one you like the best and which ones fit your budget. I was just saying it is probably best to get a known brand, popular case. That way there will be lots of reviews for the case, so you can see what others think about it. Also, case manufacturers aren't going to fix a case with no reviews. (So the case could have something majorly wrong with it). Hope I helped!

I guess the question is how much are you planning to spend? There's plenty of good cases on the market for every budget and you don't have to get stuck with a no name, off brand case. So knowing that will help to answer that question. One thing you do have to keep in mind is if you're going to use the 5.25" drive bays (optical drive, fan controller, etc) some cases do not have them, and one is on that list and that's the NZXT S340.
