Am trying to upgrade to 8 GB (2x4) and am seeing everyone recommend EVM and everywhere I have Found them they are out of stock . Can anyone tell me of another specific memory sticks that will work ? I bought EVGA at Micro Center and they were not recognized

The list of memory that the motherboard manufacturer tested on that motherboard is in your manual, which came on a CD with the motherboard and can be found on line. Any compatible memory being "not recognized" is phenomenally unlikely. What model of EVGA memory did you get, and what does the BIOS (or UEFI) have to say that indicates that it is not recognized?

The p41 is a socket 775 mobo, back then DRAM was made with low density ICs (chips), those went by the wayside around 2011, todays DRAM is made with high density ICs and aren't compatible, it's getting harder and harder to find the low density chip based sticks. More in item 2 here:

I do not have the disk or any info about motherboard and would appreciate if you could guide me to the site where I could find that info. To answer the other Question is that after I had atech install them there was no response from the computer at all . He said it wasn't reading them
