Hi there

I am buying a ASUS H170 Pro Gaming MOBO, which only supports DDR4 2133 RAM
I was wondering if I could put DDR4 3000 RAM (specifically, CMK16GX4M2B3000C15B), in that MOBO.

If not, what cheap Mobo's under $150 ish would support it?

Thanks
Cal

Solution
You can but it'll be downclocked to 2133Mhz. You may be able to overclock it a bit, but certainly not to 3000Mhz.

Only Z170 motherboards support it, so you'll want to get one of those.

Same question here i have a ASUS H170 PRO Gaming MB intel i5-6500 and Corsair 16GB DDR4 2400mhz ( CMK16GX4M2A2400C14R) RAM. on the ASUS site QVL this memory is tested en ok with this motherboard.
It wil only run on 2133 MHz i tried diferend kind of setting and also create a XMP profile. The system wont start and gets back to the 2133 Mhz setting.

Can i solve this problem or is somting rong with the RAM?
