need help with understanding ddr5 card

ok so guys I have

mother board ASUS P9X79 LE ATX motherboard from what I understand its only accepts ddr3 memory and I have gtx 980 SC card my question is since my card can run ddr5 memory if I get motherboard that does ddr5 memory and I get ddr5 memory sticks will my performance increase?

You Motherboard supports DDR3 RAM, the GPU has DDR5 VRAM ... very different products and your motherboard could care less what is on the GPU, it only cares if the Card fits in the Slot.
