Asrock z77 OC Formula Bios update failed, Backup bios wants me to move jumper to pins 1 and 2 while power is on

hey is this even safe to attempt because Asrock manual and bios seem to think it is and its the only way to fix the pc

You should shut down the pc first, move the jumper to 2/3, then boot your PC. And the 2nd (backup) BIOS will active during the boot, after you can boot the PC, shut down it again, then move the jumper back to 1/2.
