Due to the fact of losing my computer to a pair of male cats who decided to spray down the top of MY haf 932 Advanced Case and blow up my motherboard/ Processor/ Video Card/ I am now in need of updating these components
I am looking at an AS Rock 990FX Fatality Killer Motherboard which has an AM3+ Processor Socket
AMD FX-8350 Processor
and a Radeon HD 7770 Video Card
The Memory I have is 4 8 Gigabyte Modules of Patriot PXD38G1600LLK Viper Xtreme Performance Desktop Memory Kit - 32GB (4 x 8GB) PC3-12800, DDR3-1600MHz, 8-9-8-24 CAS Latency, XMP Ready
I am looking for Stock performance no Overclocking or anything fancy
Just really want to know if i have to spend the money for new Ram or not
Thank you

Solution
Don't know why the FX 8350 is "garbage",it may not be the best for gaming but is still a decent cpu.If you want to go intel could you still choose socket 1150/Haswell to go with that ram that ram.For motherboards this link.

Are you sure all parts are "blown up"? Tested?

First off the original Mother Board was an MSI Z77A-G45 with an Intel I-5 3570 Processor With this Ram and a pair of Sapphire 7770 GHZ Edition Video Cards set up in Crossfire. The Components were housed in a Cooler Master Haf 932 Advanced Case with STock Fans/ A Cooler Master V-6 Cpu Cooler was installed and powering the system is an Ultra X-4 850 Watt Modular Power Supply.
Due to the fact that the Cats had Fun and sprayed the computer while it was on and it shut down and would not start back up i feel that the parts are fried. I have Checked the power supply and it runs fine however i do not have the ability to Check the memory as i do not have any other computer that uses DDR-3 all the computers i have here use DDR-2 so i can not check the memory. Video Card is Fried i have checked it on the other computer and nothing and i do not have the ability to check the motherboard to see if it really fried so i am working on replacing these components however i wish to hold onto as much money as possible because I am disabled and on a fixed income. this is why i am asking about this memory and i am considering the AMD Solution versus the Intel because of Cost of Processors
Again Thank you for your time

I'm sorry, you picked best answer so thought you had all the info needed.

If you can't test hardware and want new i suggest something intel. The AMD seems to be cheap, but often needs a higher end and more expensive motherboard like the one you chose.Talking about the FX 8350.With the Intel could you go for an i5 4460 for instance and get a decent B85 motherboard with that, the H97/Z97 aren't al that more expensive so look at the options.
Going back to AMD could you, depending on what you do also choose the FX 6300,cheaper and still potent enough for daily tasks and some gaming,if you really want AMD something to think about.

I hope that the Ultra psu will be good,Ultra doesn't have a good name here.Look into tier 5.

What is it that you do with the pc? For some daily tasks and some light gaming could even an i3 be enough like the I3 4170 for instance.

Deleting answers seems not possible in this kind of thread so no reason to think further about it. ;) Well not quite as a i see now, when just made can an answer be deleted via the "dustbin button",but when other replies are made,or maybe after a certain time, are the posts here to stay.

I'll hear from you when you've got the answers.

okay here goes i have searched and searched and done this all day and i still come to the conclusion of an AMD System.
The Intel processor I had was an I5-3570K which is an 1155 Socket which i wish I had not gotten now if i knew then what I know now. The Guys at Comp USA kinda screwed me and misrepresented their product. So I wound up with a system that was good but not really upgrqdeable due to the socket architecture.
Combine this with the cost of the newer Processors and all I am still looking to purchase an AMD system.
Now the Question is to which one
I am guessing the 6300 would do me but i am not sure i play Skyrim and Thief i want to play them at 1080P on Ultra settings with Textures. I would also like to be able to do Direct X 12 when games come out i wish to play. I want a system that i don't have to upgrade when a game comes out i want and cant because the system wont run it .
other than gaming i use the computer for micro soft office work as well as DVD Authoring and Video editing as well as Cad.
Here are the Systems I am considering
AMD 6300 CPU
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard
or my original of
AMD FX8350 CPU
AS Rock 990FX Killer Motherboard
looking forward to your reply

If you favor AMD is that fine with me.:) Don't know why you consider the 3570K a bad choice,it's still now a very decent cpu.
If you want something to last long and looking at what you do is the FX 83350 not a bad idea.Is the motherboard chosen with it a nice choice (you just like it) or are there cheaper options? Just looked at it and for $93 via the pcpartpicker actually not a bad choice.
You have an aftermarket cooler? Is imo a wise choice with the FX cpu.A nice option, taking rebate into account, right now,

let me understand you correctly
you are saying the FX8350 CPU and the Motherboard i picked out should do what i need it to do.
Second the feeling of the I5-3570K Chip is not a regular socket it is limited I did find motherboards that were socket 1155 however I personally did not like the chip. Now do not get me wrong when the system was working it did everything i needed it to do and some more. it never let me down until the Accident. the real negative about this processor is the socket and looking for aftermarket coolers and such was a fun job which is why i had to settle on a Coolermaster V6 to which i am fond of.
so I am working on the parts to repair this and if I am right you also agree to this combination
1. AMD FX 8350 Processor
2. Fatality 990FX Killer Motherboard (I picked it because of the reviews from New Egg and others on the net as well as looks and price.)
3. Cooler Master V-8 Aftermarket CPU Cooler based on information from Cooler master and my own investigation as well as staying with Cooler Master based on past performance and looks I am an old car guy
4. I have contacted Patriot Memory and they are going to work with me with the memory
5 AMD Radeon R9-380 4 GB Video Card
6. Ultra X4-850 Watt Modular Power Supply
7. Cooler Master Haf-932 Advanced Case which i have replaced the I/O panel and have reconditioned it to OEM Specs
8 I have added 2 120MM Fans to the Case one at the bottom next to the PSU and the other up into the Video Card bracket that the HAF-932 provides
please let me know what you think

when i dismantled the computer i messed up the V6 by dropping it when it was off the motherboard and seperated the heat pipe at the bottom from the base. So I need to replace it
other than that i thank you so very much for your input and help with this

I see you talk about "fixed income",but spend a lot on a cooler like that when not overclocking a 212 evo would work fine.Just saying ...
The Cryorig H7 looks nice as well and would do good as well.Don't know what the options are where you live.
