I decided to try some overclocking with my MSI gtx 970 and followed the instructions on this page:

It was going well for the first couple of increases in VRAM and core clock when my fps dropped from around 70 (I'm using a 1280x1024 monitor so better performance than 1080p) to 40.
ok. So I decide to remove the overclock but the fps stayed the same. Its the same in games as well (lagging in arkham city).
Is there any way to fix this or is it permanent?
