Hello Community
I hope somebody can help me here.

I just built a small PC with following specs:

  • ■ Silverstone SX500-LG 500W
    ■ Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI
    ■ CPU: Intel Core i5 4670 BOX
    ■ RAM: Corsair ValueSelect (2x, 8GB, DDR3-1600, DIMM 240)
    ■ SSD: Crucial MX200 500GB
    ■ GPU: EVGA GTX 960 SuperSC ACX 2.0+ 2GB

But when I boot my system, the screen just stays black and I'm not able to enter the bios. When I unmount the graphics card everything works fine ("no bootable device found", entering bios works too).

I connected the graphics card with the 6+2PIN PCI-E Power connector as it should be. The mainboard looks fine to me and I have built the system on a esd conformal working station.

Has anyone an idea what I should do?

I got my problem solved. I uninstalled the graphics card and ran the system over the integrated gpu. So I've started to install my OS (Win 10). After the installation -> graphics card back in, and problem solved! Graphics work fine.
Don't know exactly what the magic was... The installed OS or the remount of the card (which I've done a hundert times before).

Thanks Will for your answer anyway!

try the gpu in another computer if possible, make sure it is seated properly, and check to see if there is any noticeable damage. If you cant find anything then your 960 is dead. if you have a warranty get it replaced, if you don't well theres not really much you can do besides send i in and have them fix it for the price they are asking.

hopefully the news isn't too depressing, just it happens sometimes with pc parts, ive had a 4850 do this to me so i know how much it sucks.

sorry,
Will
