Asrock Fatality K6

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-8GVKB

not exactly listed under asrock compatibility, http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20Z170%20Gaming%20K6/index.us.asp?cat=Memory

does this exclude them from working.

it appears the F4-3200C16Q-16GVK and F4-3200C16D-8GVK ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231901&cm_re=F4-3200C16Q-16GVK-_-20-231-901-_-Product)

is very close to the same as F4-3200C16D-8GVKB ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231939&_ga=1.17187121.944892771.1454639329 )

Differences being what i bought ( model F4-3200C16D-8GVK)
DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)
Timing 16-18-18-35
Cas Latency 16
Voltage 1.35V

and what the recommended one was ( model F4-3200C16D-8GVK)
DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)
Timing 16-16-16-36
Cas Latency 16
Voltage 1.35V

Solution
Most likely it will work fine unless the Latency is wrong, similar model numbers are on the list. That said if you haven't bought the ram yet, buying from the list is preferable.

Those timings are significantly different. It may not work at all or it may give you errors. You can manually adjust the timing in your BIOS to the ones you know work however the Memory may not like the change.

Can you return it and buy the correct memory? That would be your best bet.

If it has the same timings it may well work as they don't always have the ability to test everything. That said sometimes there are issues with certain memory chip brands. ASRock seems to have a pretty comprehensive list so its possible they did try this ram and it didn't work. Only 1 way to find out....

That said if you see strange issues this would be your first culprit.

Going forward always buy RAM from the list.
