I was looking at a new CPU cooler that I was planning on getting for my PC and noticed that in the specifications it says that it fits an LGA 1156 socket. I did some research to see if it would also fit an LGA 1150 socket and from what I saw the answer was yes. I did some more research and saw that LGA 1150 socket CPU coolers also fit LGA 1151 sockets so would that imply that the LGA 1156 cooler would be able to fit an LGA 1151 socket?
I currently have an LGA 1150 socket CPU, but I was looking to upgrade to an i7-6700k in the future which is an LGA 1151 and would like to know if the cooler would fit the LGA 1150 AND the LGA 1151 so that I might be able to go ahead and get it and still be able to use it after upgrading.
