Hello,
I have a Lenovo x200s Laptop with Windows 7.
Today the speakers gave off a strange sound and went dead (no sound via headphones either).
I reinstalled the drivers and tried to troubleshoot with W7's software. No result, all seems fine.

Is there a diagnostics to tell me if it is the hardware that is defective?

The man said $10 bucks to see what can be done and I have to pay if he can't fix it.

Can you help please?

Thank you.

Tom

Uninstall the drivers in hardware manager reboot the laptop and let it reinstall the drivers itself (that is if it "finds new hardware" when you restart it. if it does and installs the drivers if the "sound card chip" on the mother board is good you will have sound if mot it has a problem with the "onboard " sound chip. But all is not lose creative makes a external sound card that plugs into the USB port and when the drivers are installed you will have sound through it when the laptop is on a desk etc.
