What is the cheapest Quad core CPU that has excellent performance in both rendering videos and playing games?

What do you guys think? I got the Intel G3258 and I was pretty disappointed with it. I never thought a dual core CPU will perform pretty bad when it comes to rendering and playing modern games like GTA V. I'm planning to buy a new one, so what would it be? thank you guys! I also wanted to know if the most expensive i3 performs the same with the cheapest i7.

An high end i3 will never outperform a low end i7, the i7 will beat the crap out of the i3.
