Buying an Asus Rog PG279Q, which card to go for? and more ?

Just about to purchase a new monitor and want to make sure my PC is up to making it worthwhile.

Current specs are ;

Intel I5 3570k @ 4.5 GHz
Gigabite G.1 sniper M5
Coolermaster GX2 550W
16gb RAM ddr3 1600mhz
HD7950

Im looking at the 980 ti but possible will wait for pascal to come out

What else could/should i change

any advice would be appreciated

Solution
1. If you wanna go for PG279Q, it is better to pick XB271HU. Both have a lot of QC issues but PG279Q is a lot worse.
2. You have already HD7950, hold on until Pascal and Polaris are available on market. See what best by then.
3. PG279Q is only GSync capable, if you decided to take FreeSync, you can only use AMD. BTW, the thing with FreeSync and GSync to be nVidia or AMD exclusive is starting to get on my nerve. (I own XB270HU...I am stuck with nVidia)
