If I set a custom resolution lower than my native resolution(3840 x 2160) for fps purposes. will it do any harm to my tv?

I'm trying to set it to a res that's already on the list ( 2560 x 1440 ) but with a refresh rate of 60hrtz rather than 30.

Thank you in advance!

Like any screen or video card since the PC arrived... hardware has a capability of running at one refresh rate at a particular resolution and at a lower refresh rate at higher resolutions

800x 600 @ 120Hz moves the same amount of pixels as 1600 x 1200 @ 60 hz so the load on the system is the same.

If the menu is offering the choice, the manufacturer is telling you that their system can do this. That's not the same thing as saying it will look good. You are now dealing with interpolation algorythms which have never been very good at their intended usage. You see a similar effect when wide screen monitors 'stretch and image to fit wide screen monitors when the game driver does not provide a setting for that resolution.
