What Internet Package Should I Take?

Sorry in advance if I'm posting in the wrong forum. I'm debating on which internet upgrade package I should take. The main reason is because I've recently started streaming on Twitch my Xbox 360 console and me and my girlfriend play at the same time and she's on another Xbox on a wireless connection in another room while both my computer and Xbox are hardwired in the other room on the same connection. This is really the only reason why we're upgrading as we notice connection issues (poor qualities at times). We currently have 30 Mbps download speed and 10 Mbps upload speed. The next package goes to 60 Mbps down/10 Mbps up and the next one is 120 down/20 up. I don't really know what streaming and online gaming require more up or download speed. Here's the link I'm choosing from (I'm on the hybrid 30 fibre): http://www.videotron.com/residential/internet/residential-internet

Thanks

that's good if the speed is stable, then moving to the 20 mb upload speed should be the difference you need. :)

it did say ti was a hybrid cable fiber optic connection which may help even out the normal speed changes one sees on cable connections.

the upload is what you need more of. the streaming is sending data out to twitch and is "uploaded" data. also consider than cable connection speeds will vary depending on the time of day. in the evenings when a lot of people are online, overall speeds usually drop. is this the time of day you tend to stream? this could be part of the problem.

notice that the 20 mb upload package (the nest fastest upload speeds they offer) adds the term "up to" above the speed. this is telling you again that you may not see the full upload speed at times or ever. you could pay for the next package and still see the same speeds you have now. you would have to play with it and see. sucks but this is the way cable internet works. lots of big numbers, but often much lower speeds.

have you run speedtest to see what speeds you are actually getting now? next time it starts lagging a bit, run a speedtest and see what the speeds are. if they are your full speeds then you need more speed. if they are not, then you need to contact the company and see if they can get it up for you some to what you are paying for

I've done multiple tests and I usually get something around 20 down 10 up. They seem to be quite consistent speeds. We're only really noticing while I'm streaming and we're both playing in the same game on xbox live for instance black ops we'll tend to 3 bar it opposed to usually 4 bar it. Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it.
