I have an asrock z170 pro4s, I don't have a dedicate audio card, so how much should I spend on speakers because there proabably is a point where you won't hear a difference since I am using the audio on my motherboard? I was thinking around $60-$80. What is a good brand of computer speakers for music and games? Do I really need a subwoofer, or do good speakers have built in base? Does anyone know if any stores have speakers on display because best buy and pc richard and son don't have any computer speakers on display so you don't know how good they sound?

There is quite a bit of difference between a $50 set of speakers when compared to a $100+ set, this has to do with the quality and size of the Speakers themselves and components in the amp. The more you pay the overall better quality in general. Brands? There are several that make good sets; Bose, Klipsch, Grace Digital, Logitech, Harmon Kardon, Creative, Altec Lansing just to name a few. Multimedia Speakers are what you should be looking for they have the required hookups for a PC or any other device. Creative Labs and Logitech have many in that price range that are very decent, look them up on NewEgg. Bose Component sets off Ebay for around $50 would blow most of what you can find away at least anything from Wal Mart. So you need a...

That depends on the speakers, for the under $100 range your better off looking for a 2.1 set of Multimedia speakers and over $100 you have many more options open.

Edifier Exclaim e10 $99.99

Not what I was expecting out of a Multimedia Speaker, Impressive range and Deep bass without a sub. I picked up a set off Ebay for $50 and they really impressed me.

Creative T3150 (51MF0425AA001) 2.1 Bluetooth Wireless Speaker System $60

Decent speaker but no where near as loud or clear as the above one, this one although does have Bluetooth.

Here is a nice Site that has Some rated and it goes into a detailed description of specs and what to look for but there are much more out there then they list or rate.
