I am looking to upgrade my integrated graphics to a discrete graphics card (and disable the integrated one.)

System Specs:

I own a prebuilt ASUS CM1745 (specs: https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/CM1745/specifications...)

CPU: AMD A-10 5700 quad core 3.4ghz (4.0ghz turbo) (Trinity Series)
MOBO: A85X-FCH
GPU(Will be disabled when GPU upgrade is installed): AMD Radeon HD 7660D
GPU upgrade: EVGA GeForce 740 SC DDR3 4GB (Single Slot, or Dual Slot)
PSU: 300W Dimensions: 3.39" (86mm)H x 5.91" (150mm)W x 6.30" (160mm)L
PSU possible upgrade: EVGA 500W
RAM: 8GB 1600mHz
HDD: 7200RPM 1TB 3.5"
Keyboard: Logitech G710+
Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Core

Single Slot Specs: http://www.evga.com/Products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=D24D2DA7-FE4F-422C-8DFF-EC0E4F0E5560
Dual Slot Specs: http://www.evga.com/Products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=05B428F4-8DFF-4C26-9476-98B583B4D396

TL : DR Would the Dual Slot card be worth an extra ~$30-$40 and 2 weeks wait over the Single Slot card?

The 750TI doesnt come in a DDR3 model as far as I can tell. And I didnt think DDR3 was compatible with GDDR5 unless I am mistaken?

Quick google search answered my question. With that being known now. What GPU would you suggest for my current setup. Consider a $300 budget (GPU+PSU=$300)

Very, very mistaken... The 750TI is what you want!

And actually, your current CPU is a PoS and won't handle more than a 750Ti. Save up a bit more money and in 6-12mo buy a 3ghz+ Core i3 chip +mobo from Intel (~$200-$225 on top of everything else)

Understandable. Thank you again for the advice! The 750Ti looks like a good pick. Although, like you said, I will be building a new pc myself within the next year hopefully. So would it be worth it to get something like a GeForce GTX 960 4GB and a 650W-750W PSU and transfer those components over to the new build?

Sure, you can do that too, though even for the 960 you only need ~500W at most even with high overclocks on everything. Get a EVGA G2, Seasonic, or SuperFlower Leadex Gold PSU with 500-600W and a 960 and you won't have to upgrade the PSU for years to come.

Awesome! I think I will go with the EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB SSC GAMING ACX 2.0+ (http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-3967-KR) and a 500W EVGA PSU. Obviously my CPU wont even begin to utilize the 960, but it should at least be relevant for the next year or two and can be installed in a better PC at a later date.
