Hi,

I'm new to the community and I hope you can help with this (I did search the forum but could not find a solution that worked for me).

I just purchased a new Dell U2515H 2560x1440 Display, to serve as primary monitor to the monitor I had been using, i.e., a Dell U2414H (on 1920x1080). I've set them up in a Displayport 1.2 daisy-chain (changed the default DP setting in the monitor menus as required since default is 1.1a). It seemed to work great, but now the secondary monitor occasionally 'flashes black' to come back on, without any error message. It's quite unpredictable: the secondary monitor can work without turning black for hours, while sometimes it it 'flashes black' every 10 minutes or so.
It's driving me absolutely bonkers!
I'm using the two display set-up mainly for DTP, word and image processing and translation work - I do not use the double display setup for gaming (one's enough for me).

My set-up:
- MS 10 Home 64 / i7 6700k / Asus Nvidia GTX970 Strix / Asus Z170Deluxe / 3 SSDs (1 Samsung and 2 Sandisk)
- Input colour format in Dell display menus: RGB, Preset mode: Normal, for both displays.
- Nvidia control panel: Display 1: 2560x1440 (native), RGB, 32-bit, 8 bpc, output dynamic range: full. Display 2: 1080px1080 (native), RGB, 32-bit, 8 bpc, output dynamic range: full. Refresh rates: 60Hz for both.
- Power: Corsair RM650i; Power setting: High performance

Things I've tried:
- Disable screen saver
- Reinstallation of graphics driver and NVDIA control panel
- Un-scaling and Re-scaling primary monitor
- Change resolutions
- Change cables, from DP to HDMI (daisy chain); disconnecting displays: both displays work perfectly on their own; Changing secondary monitor connection from DP to mini-display port.

Nothing worked.
Is this a power issue? Or are the displays not 'synchronized' correctly (via Nvidia control panel)?

Many thanks in advance.

Solution
Well, if anyone is still following this: the problem solved itself so to speak, through a fresh install of windows. For what it's worth: I reckon it was a conflict between the nvidia driver and the dell monitor management software/driver.
