Hey guys. I friend of mine has some ram left over. He told me that he has 2x 1866 sticks.
My question is can my motherboard handle that? My mobo says in the left side of the ram slots 1666+. Hope you can answer :D

The QVL can be helpful, but you have to keep in mind on everything it list, you still need a CPU that can carry the sticks, at least if you want to run them to spec. i.e. Many AM3+ mobos will show 2133 or even 2400 DRAM, but to run them at 2133 or 2400 you'll generally need a strong FX 83xx CPU at a minimum. With the Athlon 640 you are prob looking at being able to run 1333 and maybe 1600 (the 965 was the first CPU that could reliably run 1600 sticks.)

Go to your MOBOs website and find the QVL (Qualified Vendor List). Not only will it list the speed RAM the board can handle but exactly which RAM from which vendor will definitely work on the board.
