I have a wired (ethernet) connection to my computer via a TP-Link Powerline Adapter. My printer is wireless. I can only get my printer to print when my ethernet is disabled. When both the ethernet and wireless are enabled, it won't print. What is going on?
Thanks.

Because you are trying to use wired and wireless (on the same subnet) at the same time. Since your PC is on powerline, I assume your WIFI doesn't reach you and your printer. To continue to print wirelessly you would have to locate the printer so that your wireless router can handle the traffic.

If you don't want to do that, you will need to manually setup your wireless adapter with a different subnet than the main router and set a static IP address with NO GATEWAY. You will then have to re-IP your printer for that same subnet with a static IP address. No other devices connected to the WIFI router will be able to get to the printer with this configuration.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. The 3 units (printer, router, PC) are located within 12 feet of one another. The reason I decided to use a powerline was because my desktop wireless was pretty slow. I thought it was because it was closed inside of a desk cupboard and figured that hardwiring it would be faster. It's weird that as soon as I disable the ethernet the wireless just starts working for the printer.

Does this clarify anything? I'm not familiar with networking. Sorry.
