I'm thinking of building my own gaming desktop PC.

What's the difference between something like the Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB M.2 3.5-Inch SSD (MZ-N5E500BW), (Amazon link) which appears naked, and Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E500B/AM) (Amazon link).

I want the most bang for the buck. I have a mid-tower ATX case.

I understand that you pay more money to have something in a smaller size. So if I can get more storage (more gigabytes) in a bigger size, I don't mind.

Solution
ones a standard 2.5 sata ssd

the other is a m2 drive which your motherboard needs to have a slot for or you need a pci-e adapter card to put it in

Thank you. What's the difference in terms of power/speed/etc.

heres the full flavoured version

your motherboard must have a m2 slot thats pci-e x4 not one thats 10Gbs/x2 to get full speed out of these things

or you need a pci-e adapter card if you dont have the m2 slot
