CPU Fan showing 0 RPM

I have an EKWB Predator water cooling kit hooked up. It's an AIO with the pump attached to the radiator. There is a PWM splitter board on the radiator that the radiator fans and pump attach too. From this splitter board is a 2 wire cable that plugs to the CPU FAN header on the motherboard. It's only pins 3&4 which are speed and speed control. A SATA connector goes to this splitter board on the radiator to power the pump and fans. The 2 wire jumper to the fan header is only for PWM speed control.

I have it hooked up but it's not reading the RPM. It's displaying 0 RPM but the fans are spinning full tilt from the SATA. I'm guess the motherboard just isn't reading it without pins 1&2 attached for power to the fans. Any ideas? It's an Asus M4A89TD PRO/USB 3 AMD board.

Solution
Problem solved, I wasn't plugged into hub #1 on the PWM splitter. Answered my own question. It may help others though searching with a similar problem.

Update: It may be that it only reads the fan plugged into hub port #1 on the splitter and I don't have any fans plugged in there. I may be plugged into #3 and 4 for example. I'll tear the case apart and double check and report back.
