Hey guys, just switched from an NVIDIA card that crashed my PC with their new drivers. I have a Seiki Pro SM40UNP 40" 4k monitor, and I am able to get the 4k to work at 30hz through display port, however, when I switch it to display port 1.2 and try to get 60 hz, it crashes and diverts back to 1080p or 4k at 30 hz. It says that there is a link failure.

However, this monitor and cable worked fine with NVidia, so I'm assuming that this is a card and drivers problem. Is there something I'm missing to get it to work?

Thanks!

The 390x need a special adapter to display 4k at 60hz. Check Amd Website for the proper adapter. Not all converter will work. You can chose display port or hdmi 1xxx to 2.0.

Positive. As soon as I updated to Nvidia's new drivers, my computer went into a bsod infinite bootloop and I couldn't get to windows to uninstall the display drivers. The problem is well documented.

And it wasn't the card itself's fault. The card for all intents and purposes worked fine. However, I have had several problems with the last few drivers including the display drivers randomly freezing. That, coupled with a sale on the 390x and the 390x having 8gb of vram which should help out running things in 4k helped me want to try out AMD's side to see if I would have the same issues.

Radeon's drivers aren't crashing my computer, I just can't run 4k at 60hz. I can run it at 30 hz, and my other monitor works fine.

I'm using a displayport cable. I shouldn't need an adapter if it is going displayport directly to another displayport. My screen is a Monitor, not a TV.
