Will a skylake i7 6700K fit in a LGA 2011-3 socket

Hello community

Im Building my first pc and wanted a ASUS ATX DDR4 3000 LGA 2011-3 Motherboards X99-DELUXE motherboard...

now i dont know if a skylake i7 will fit the socket on the motherboard

No, the Intel Core i7 6700k (Good Choice BTW) will not fit, it uses a LGA 1151 Socket. If I may suggest, you might try using PC Part Picker to compile a parts list as it auto check the compatibility for everything. Link to PC Part Picker : https://pcpartpicker.com/

No a 6700k needs to go in a 1151 socket motherboard.

You will need a 2011-3 socket processor to go in that board, a 5820k would be a good choice of CPU. It virtually has the same gaming performance as the 6700k (slightly better in some titles), but has 2 extra cores that come in handy for rendering etc and maybe with DX12 better gaming performance.
But it uses more power (95w TDP vs 140w TDP)
