Hey guys I was shopping for WD black 1tb inter HDD and I came across two version, one with few black circles on the drive and another one without those circles, what are the differences?

Solution
I'm glad to be able to help you out, Louis531! :)

There are some performance and reliability improvements in the newer models, yes. However, they mostly concern the bigger capacity WD Blacks.
The black circles on the newer batches are anti-tamper stickers and they are present for Warranty Purposes.
There's really nothing to worry about with either one of the two WD1003FZEX drives that you are interested in.

If you have more questions & concerns, contact our Customer Support! :)

Hope I was helpful. Best of luck!

Hey there, Louis531!

The only difference is that the WD1003FZEX from the first link is actually a refreshed model of the WD Black HDD.
Whereas the one from the second reseller is from an older batch. If you have any concerns about either one of them, I'd advise you to check the warranty on our website as soon as you get them.

I'd recommend you to always check the warranty of any new hardware component that you'd be getting. This is the fastest and surest way to determine how genuine that product is.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted if you have more questions! :)

Since it's a refreshed model, is there any differences in term of performance? Glad to hear from WD representative :)
