Hey all,

Basically the title says it all, there's a bit of a back story I'll make it quick. I moved from Verizon Fios which was giving me 50 upload to Comcast which is giving me 10 upload. I noticed streaming any game has been a bit of a problem on my new upload, and my OBS is saying something like CPU encoding when it's lagging. So I'm assuming it's my computer that's giving me problems as I know plenty of people stream with 10 mbps upload just fine. I'm guessing that super upload was kind of carrying my average computer to streaming fine.

My current pc specs..

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz
Manufacturer Intel
Speed 3.2 GHz
Number of Cores 4
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650
Manufacturer NVIDIA
Chipset GeForce GTX 650
Dedicated Memory 1024 MB
Total Memory 4.0 GB
Memory 8.0 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 (build 10586), 64-bit
Service Pack 0
Size 64 Bit Edition

If you need more information let me know and I'll get it for you. Basically I'm trying to just upgrade my computer if possible instead of buying a complete new one but if it's a minor difference I'm willing to flat out buy a new one. Let me know what I'm looking at for just an upgrade let's say with a $1,000 limit, ideally less. New computer $1,500 or less.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm not very knowledgeable about this kind of stuff.

Solution
1. Try using process lasso to manually assign separate CPU cores to OBS and BDO: https://bitsum.com/
(right click their processes and choose CPU Affinity > Always)

2. Lower your streaming settings/set them up correctly: http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/1262922-open-broadcaster-software

3. How much spare CPU/GPU/RAM do you have when running the game without streaming it? http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html

4. Your GPU is pretty weak and could definitely benefit from an upgrade, your budget actually allows you to fully upgrade the system and make a full on streaming/max settings gaming PC if you want:
