I don't think your hardware would have a direct impact on making your game crash, but it may. Have you tried verifying the integrity of your game in steam? If that doesn't work try and remember if you have installed any programs lately that may be causing this. Another thing you could try would be to re-install CPU or GPU drivers. If none of this works, than maybe a factory reset or restore of your operating system its self. If that still did not work, your hardware may have part in your game crashing.
