Fans Speeding Up

Hi! I was rendering a video and my CPU was getting to 65-68 degC. That's with the front cover off. I have the bitfenix comrade case and I have installed 2 front fans. At 68degC the CPU fan is around 3500-3800 RPM. I also have a custom fan curve set up so it does that. (Speedfan) When I put the front cover on, the CPU temp remains the same but the fan RPM goes to max (6500 rpm) in a matter of seconds. If I remove it, the fan slows down again. It speeds up even when I have nothing open except Speedfan but not as fast. Why?

Solution
You may be able to further tweak the fan speeds to avoid this extra speed by adjusting with the case closed.

Larger coolers should be more quiet as long as they fit the case. It is best to measure the distance from the board to side of the case. Take off a bit for the cpu height. Most 120mm coolers should fit.
If it is an AMD stock cooler, the fan has a built in thermal sensor that speeds it up if the case(air flow out of the fan it self) temperature goes up. Maybe the case air flow is not good with the cover on.

Larger coolers tend to remove heat better so a basic tower cooler could be a good option for you.
