I am upgrading my CPU (AMD A8-6600k) to an Intel i5-6600k. My current motherboard is an FM2 socket type so I will also be replacing my motherboard to the appropriate socket type (LGA 1151). Now, I shouldn't have any problems with the physical replacement, but I am not too sure if I'm supposed to do anything. I read that I may need to reinstall windows due to possible driver conflicts. However, I don't know if there's anything else I need to do. So if I could get some help as to what I need to do that'd be great.

Yes you will have to do a clean installation of the OS i.e, Windows. Not that its necessary, you can also uninstall the old drivers and then re-install the new drivers, but you should do a clean installation so that you don't face any problems in the future. Just do a clean install and get the latest drivers from website.

And I don't think you'll need to do anything else but to give an awesome treat to your friends. xD ;)
