Specs:
i5-4690k @ 4.4 GHz
MSI Gaming 5
16 gb 1600 mhz RAM
XFX r9 390x
850W EVGA PSU

So I basically popped in this new 390x and I now have extremely high cpu usage while in games. Didn't happen with my 960. Any ideas on what the problem is would be a help. Thanks in advance!

Edit: was only in GTA V due to the new card being more advanced my cpu just had to work harder. No longer a problem ill just deal with the usage as turning up my settings helped a bit.

Solution
So. Do you still have a problem or did you work out that your new GPU was demanding more? Your old GPU was limiting your system so your CPU had to work only so hard to keep up. Your new GPU can do more, so your GPU is demanding more work.

To lower the load on your CPU, increase the graphics settings on your GPU to take advantage of its greater power, this will get it to do more work and stop it from bothering your CPU so much :)
