I recently encrypted my WD external HD with bitlocker.
Last week i wanted to move some of my documents from my desktop to my HD and it just stalled and crashed.
Now, when I plug in my HD it can't detect anything. I've tried to uninstall bitlocker but it says parameter is invalid.
Sent to my tech guy and he said that the drive is unreadable - the partitioning is lost.
He tried using the M3 recovery but was no use if the portioning is not readable.
My late son's whole life in videos and pictures were on that drive.
REALLY appreciate if anyone can help.

Solution
Probably had nothing to do with bitlocker and just a regular disk failure. You can try cloning the drive and attempt to access data from a vhd of it, but if you can't read the drive data at all (even encrypted form), it's just impossible to recover.

Either way, take this as a lesson in proper data backup, you should ALWAYS use multiple copies on separate disks for important documents. All of my photos and videos are backed up on two internal disks + an external disk + DVD/Bluray just in case (disk backup kept a thousand miles away)
