Hello!

So i've had this Asus ROG G750JX gaming laptop for a couple of years now and i feel my GTX770M is getting pretty bad in games when it comes to performance. When AMD XConnect was launched i was pretty excited since i have a spare R9 290X laying around i thought why not hook it up to my laptop when it comes avaliable to purchase. It says it connects to your laptop via thunderbolt, so here's my question related to this. Does it support my laptop? Or does it simply have to be the Razer Blade laptop for AMD XConnect to work?

Solution
Xconnect is AMD tech. Or to be more accurate AMD implementation so their discrete gpu can work with thunderbolt to make external gpu possible. But the dock itself (that houses the gpu) will work on any gpu. If your mobo does hace thunderbolt then it might work with amd Xconnect driver. Though as it is it seems amd have white listing on which of their gpu are compatible with their X connect.
I think the said notebook must have thunderbolt (which to date mostly only available on intel ultra book). Also i believe that razor dock can also be used with nvidia card. In fact nvidia support external gpu via thnderbolt much earlier than AMD in their driver.

My gaming laptop has thunderbolt, but i was unsure if the dock were supported still. Anyhow i did read earlier about the xconnect dock and it only had support for amd cards currently.
