I have a 4-ports router and just ordered an 8 ports switch. Wired devices (6) go all to switch or I put 3 on router and 3 on s

Solution
Your best solution would be to hook everything through your switch and let it manage the traffic. Even inexpensive non-managed switches have a good QoS technology.

basroil,
I don't mean using two switchs. I wondered if its' better for One router, one switch and 6 devices connected through ethernet "A" or "B" configuration

A :
router>3 devices
+
router> switch
+
switch> 3 devices
---

B:
router> switch
+
switch> 6 devices

Maybe you mean I used use option "B" ( you said "Always use just one"., but I don't know if you mean "only one switch" or "use just the switch for connections and don't connect any device (except the switch) to the router")

Solution
Ok, that better explains what you mean.

It all depends on use. If primarily all 6 devices always talk to all other 5, putting them on the same switch might be a better idea. If you have a server that needs outside access and the other devices just talk to the server but need to also allow full speed on the outside connection, 5 on the switch and server on the router.

Basically, you'll need to make a use graph with traffic priorities and then it should work itself out

"Independent" Devices to get hook by ethernet (all nearby) are:

1 -"Smart" TV
2 - PC
3 - Audio Streamer and music server
4 - Tivo
5 - Wall PLC device
6 - NAS

The router is also a wireless router (and is connected to a separate cable modem from internet provider).
Maybe I hook 2,5 and 6 to the (also wifi) router and the rest to the switch?
I would like the NAS to be well accesible from all devices.
2 and 5 are the ones that will get more frequent traffic, so I want these two to be as fast as possible. (the internet connection I have is really fast).

If you buy a gig switch and have gig ports on your router it likely does not make any difference where you hook things up. You would have to be doing massive file transfers between devices inside your house to even think to worry about capacity of a switch or router lan ports.
