dvd drive not showing up?

Hi, I plugged in my dvd drive in to my motherboard and connected it to my power supply it works but it's not showing up on windows?

Check the connections and test out different wires. You might have a faulty drive.

test with other cable or in another computer.
Is it detected in bios ?
Did you go to disk manager to see if the disk is there but might need to be partition of formatted.

It works properly it's just I reinstalled windows and when I reinstalled it i disconnected that drive from my motherboard by accident and now my windows is reinstalled I connected it back up and it's not showing up

it was plugged in to a sata 3 port even though it only works with sata 2
