GTX 960 in Inspiron 3847?

Hello, I have purchased a Dell Inspiron 3847 (i5 4440, 8gb RAM, I don't know the PSU, 240 GB SSD, 1TB HDD) and I want to put a Zotac Geforce GTX 960 in it. The problem is... the Inspiron is a mini tower (The case I mean) Will I be able to fit it in there? And also... if anyone knows the Inspiron's PSU... Will it be able to power everything? Or will I have to buy a better one...? And maybe even a bigger case? I wouldn't want to buy anything new. In fact I want to buy the least amount of things possible. Can someone please let me know what they think? Thanks! -HunterNet

I believe that particular Inspiron comes with a 300W PSU.........likely not a very good one either.
Given that, I wouldn't be comfortable recommending anything beyond a 750ti (which doesn't require a 6pin power connector - you likely don't have one anyway).

Should fit, especially if you get a single fan version (6-7" I believe).

Some Dell PSUs/motherboards have proprietory connections, so you want always be able to use a "normal" PSU as a replacement (which you'd want to do if you moved cases).

http:// That's the GPU... I'm pretty sure it's dual fan... Also I've already bought the 960 and the PC... Should I just upgrade my power supply?

The computer I got has Windows 10 Home Edition. Also, what does MT mean?

The PSU will be likely be standard sized, but the motherboard connections for power are frequently proprietory - making it difficult (and in some situations, impossible) to move everything to a new case.

That card is just over 8" long and, looking at the case by eye, I'd be optimistic it'll fit.
That being said, I don't know what the spacing in the case looks like, and you may have some problems.

A Zotac GTX 960 can consume up to 120W at max load (it's unlikely you'll ever be running it at 100%). Even so, 120W is a huge additional load on a 300W PSU.

Personally, I wouldn't do it (even if it would physically fit in the case).

Yeah, I watched a video earlier, there's 9 1/2 " of space there, so I'll be fine... So now I just need to find a better PSU... Do you have any recommendations? Also, can anything bad happen if you put everything together while on a PSU that can't handle it? I may consider returning the 950 and buying a single fan gtx 950 2gb- I could do just fine with that.
