I still use a UPS even with excellent house wiring. We get frequent severe thunderstorms during the summer, where I live, and the power will go out sometimes. The UPS keeps the system running long enough for a proper automatic shutdown of the system to occur.

I have been using a CyberPower 1500PFCLCD UPS for the past few years. It hasn't failed me yet.
