My friend is going to buy a bew gaming computer. His budget is around 1500 dollars. Get a 970 and a i7-6600k in there ey! Nah, it is not that easy. His parents are divorced so it would be convinient if the case was as small (and light) it could be, while being able to run all games at ultra settings 1080p 60fps (or at least close). And please do add a monitor (don't worry about this affecting the prize, I am wanting 1500 dollars for the main computer).
He also needs windiws 10, we live in Norway (although that doesn't really matter).

Hopefully you guys that are so awesome could fit all this power in a BitFenix Prodigy or a Fractal Node 304. Thanks in advance!

This is what you asked for. The case is awesome and has a handle on the top. I 100% do NOT recommend the i7 6700k for a gaming cpu though. You're wasting money here.

No no, I didn't really ask for a 6700k. I was just joking around for a usual build.

Perhaps a 60hz 24 inch monitor, we won't reach 144fps.

And pcpartpicker siggested 301w, so maybe 450w instead of 750w.

I guess 980 is too much for 1080p. 970?

A GTX970 would max a 60fps monitor pretty easily. A GTX980 would get you over 100fps most of the time, and is a great match for a 1080p 144hz monitor. A GTX970 would still be really good for 144hz. If you really just want a 60hz monitor, there is no reason to spend over ~$800 in parts. I only choose that 750w because it's a great deal. I wouldn't go as low as 450w though. 520-550w is the sweet spot for a build like that.

So basically a decision needs to be made.

If he wants 60z 1080p, all he really needs to spend is around $800 in parts, but if he is willing to spend close to $1500, he could have a pretty awesome 144hz or even 1440p gaming build.

What did you think about this case? This is what I recommend for a 1080p 60hz build, and even this is overkill.

Nah. Way too much wasted money here.

Well as CTurbo said, 1500$ for a simple 1080p 60Hz monitor is overkill. However, utilizing the full budget would afford your friend a few "luxuries" and extra future-proofing.

This is true, but my biggest argument is, if you're going to spend that much, why not get an awesome monitor that will actually benefit from great parts?

Is that really worth it? And that case doesn't have a handle, which could be convenient to have. Also, my friend wants a low costong build. He needs 2 monitors for both his parents. This is going to add up a bit, so please make the cost for the build low.

You said his budget is 1500$ and then that he wants a low cost build, so would you mind telling us which he wants?

Cut down about 200$. Any further cost cuts would either need to sacrifice case/SSD/motherboard, or performance.

I mean don't go over 1500, but keep the cost as low you can.

I am kind of a NVIDIA fan myskef, and my friend likes the geforce experience features I have. I changed a bit on your parts, what about:

This is my final recommendation for a 60hz 1080p build. Spending so much extra money on a 6600k + Z170 motherboard + fancy after market cooler is literally throwing money away in a build like this. Overclocking will give you ZERO performance increase if you're capped at 60hz.

While a 6600k will indeed not give any performance increase at 1080 60Hz, it will give significant future-proofing. If your friend wants this build to be good in 4-5 years I'd recommend spending the full 1500. Taking nVidia preference into account (and thankfully this time it's for a valid reason rather than the usual "nvidia is better" :p), this is what I'd recommend:

I guess the msi card is the overall best from what I have read. He could just get a 980 later? And the i5-6600 seems good, a guy got 62 fps minimum max gta with a 970 and a i5-6600. But he had a z17 board, does this reallly matter?:

Nah, guess the ssd can go diwn to 256gb. Thanks for the bbcode tip, I don't really know how to copy and paste properly :D. Although I am using my phone so it looked wierd for me at bbcode.

Guess I'm gonna go for this then. Probaly 60-70fps on extremely close to max settings, at least for gta?

Even at 1080p for max settings I'd recommend a GTX 980 (at least so the rig has some future-proofing), and the Asus Strix one is a very good card. Additionally, for non-K CPUs an aftermarket cooler is not necessary or particularly useful (beyond making less noise).

FYI, the stock GTX980 only averages 14% faster for gaming than a GTX970 and costs about 67% more. I think the best I've seen it do is 19% faster.

You really sure about this? We don't want to use to much money. In our country the cost got to around 1900 dollars for all in total.

Also, any alternative for the geminii cooler, our country dealer doesn't have that exactly, but they had all the other parts. Please go to proshop.no to check if they have it. Here is the current build:
